We also offer and encourage booklets in custom sizes! Just click "Request a Quote" on the top right corner of this page, and fill in the information provided.
Small Booklets (5.5" x 8.5")
We recommend smaller sized booklets to businesses who want to create "how-to" content for their customers. This is because smaller sized pages imply simpler content, and you would definitely want to simplify your content so your information is clear!
Large Booklets & Magazine Printing (8.5" x 11")
Bigger booklet sizes are ideal for content with more detailed text. For example, if you would like to explain to your customers about a recent change in your policies like being more eco-friendly or conscious of users' privacy, you would want a bigger booklet. That's so you can be as thorough as you want and add as many images and graphics you want. A larger booklet can also be used for a magazine! The standard size for a magazine in the U.S. is 8.5" x 11" and usually has a gloss or matte finish to it.
Saddle-Stitched Booklet Printing
Printleaf prints booklets using saddle stitching. This is a process of folding pages and then stapling all the pages together through the crease. This allows all the pages to stay intact and not fall out from the booklet easily.
Printleaf can ship the custom booklets to you or you can come to pick them up at our Midtown location in New York City. You can also check out photo book printing in New York.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is saddle-stitched binding?
Saddle-stitching is a binding option where all the pages of the booklet are folded together and then stapled along the spine.
How many pages can my booklet have?
Your booklet can have any number of pages, from 8 pages up to 64 pages. Saddle-stitched booklets are printed in multiples of 4 pages, meaning you can have 8 pages, 12 pages, 16 pages, 20 pages, etc. until you reach 64 pages. If you have an odd number of pages, that's fine! You can have blank pages so that you reach the nearest multiple of 4.
Is there a difference between how short-run booklets and bulk booklets are printed?
Yes, short-run booklets are printed using a digital press. The digital printing process makes the quality very high while still being able to print at a fast pace. For higher volumes, such as for bulk booklets, we print them out using an offset press. This printing method allows us to print very large amounts of booklets so you can have quantity and quality. Offset printing is what enables us to print thousands of booklets right before your deadline!
Will I receive my order in the turnaround time after placing the order?
After you place your order and upload your design, we will check to see if your design has the following:
- correct file size
- correct file format
- high-quality (if it looks blurry, difficult to read, etc.)
- other factors that may affect its design
After we finalize the design and you approve it, we will then put the booklets into production. You should receive the booklets within the said turnaround time after it's been put into production!
